“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–22, NASB95)
Anyone can rejoice when the pathway of life is smooth! Anyone can give thanks in time of victory. Most men pray in times of real trouble. But I ask you, My disciple, to pray constantly – without ceasing – in My Spirit. Do not quench My Spirit with your doubts and self-pity, but rejoice in all circumstances, even those that seem to you to be evil, for I can bring good out of them. Abstain from evil yourself as you test the spirits. Heed My prophecies for they are given to warn you, to exhort you, to comfort you. My Will is for you to give thanks at all times!
