“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.” (II Peter 1:3)
Zip – on to the next sentence, which is what I all too often do. I just cruise on by an enormous gem without a second thought. But, I did not zip by the “Star of Africa” – the Cullinan I Diamond, 530.4 carats, set on the “Head of the Sovereign’s Sceptre with Cross” of England, when I saw the “Crown Jewels” in England. I stopped and stared at it, in awe and amazement at its size and beauty.
Now back to what Peter said, “His divine power” the power of the ascended, seated in power Son of the Living God – His power makes what follows happen. I have “EVERYTHING” I need for life and godliness – not some, not most, not 99.9% – I have “everything”! That being true, why do I choose to not live in the power and glory of that truth? One, because I choose to believe a lie, the lie being “God doesn’t really mean that. He just says that”. Wow! Where have I heard that before!? I am falling for the same “ole” lie Satan used on Adam and Eve, and it is still working! Two, I am afraid of taking the risk of giving up control of my life, in exchange for “His everything”. That is not to say that through this Ministry, I have not surrendered much of the control of my life, but there are still things I want to “share” control over. I know, Father does not “share”. He is sovereign. Therefore, I rejoice I can travel the “Circle of Love” – ask the Holy Spirit to identify and convict me of my sins, forgive those who would control me, confess and repent of my sins, receive my forgiveness and forgive myself; cut any bondages; bind and cast out, or away any unclean spirits; smash any images; and ask Him who is the same yesterday, today, and forever to heal my wounds.
Yes, “His divine power has given me everything I need for life and godliness through MY knowledge of Him – who called me by His own glory and goodness”. Lord, increase my knowledge of You.
